Leander
Leander is a lovely rose that produces clusters of small, very double, somewhat flat, apricot blooms that fade to a pale peachy pink that is almost white here in my intense Colorado sun. The color deepens quite a bit to a deep rich apricot in cool fall weather. The fragrance is light, not nearly as powerful and impressive and many of the other English Roses. While I had heard that Leander was just a once bloomer, I'm happy to say that mine repeats quite well. This is a vigorous rose, throwing out long canes into it's neighboring roses in the center rose garden. Fortunately, its neighbors, such as the hybrid rugosa Linda Campbell, are also quite vigorous.
It throws long canes with the blooms just on the end of the canes.
